Eagle Drive-In in Joplin

This place reminds you to never judge a book by its cover. It’s tiny, older and nondescript, not the type of place you’d expect to find bone marrow or chicken fried escargot on the menu. Eagle is known for their burgers but there’s a lot more to them than that. The Calamari appetizer is fantastic besting seafood restaurants right on the water. And those burgers, sure you can find places with options like elk, buffalo and lamb just didn’t expect it in Joplin Mo. Our server was awesome and the prices in-line with the high quality. This place could be on Triple D and in fact should be. I’ve dined at several burger joints Guy has featured and while some have equaled Eagles burgers none have been better overall.

Blown away by this restaurant. Even when packed, their service is relatively speedy. But even still the food would be worth a long wait. Their burgers are huge, well-designed, and perfectly cooked and their friends are out of this world. I highly recommend the Blackened Salmon burger if you're not hungry enough for the Eagle burger.

Just awesome! We tried 3 different burgers and all of them were outstanding. These folks know what they are doing. There is something for darn near everyone here and you won’t be disappointed. If your in the area give it a try if you’re even close to the area it’s well worth the trip. Great beer on draft as well. Fanatic staff and service as well!!

The food was amazing and the atmosphere was even better. Fantastic experience. We were here on a Sunday at 745 and was seated immediately - things were relatively calm (had no wait).... Tim was our server and went over the top for explaining the menu and treating us like VIP. I am now infatuated with the jalapeno Margarita...it's a must try if you are daring. We had eagle patty melt on sourdough and fries. I wanted to jump for joy the fries were so good. The burger was superb. Appetizer wise...can't go wrong with the black bean salsa! The food is amazing and the staff are very friendly! We always stop here when traveling in the area. Easy access from highway 44.

Surprisingly good for a little dive shack on the side of the highway. Huge selection of good craft beers and ciders, plus draft root beer - which is the bomb. Burgers were good and mac and cheese was also respectable, but star of the meal was the fried mushroom appetizer.. some of the best fried mushrooms I've ever had. We'll for sure be back soon.

Neat little dive with a few beers on tap and full bar. But come for the food. Wide variety of sandwiches, burgers, even poutine.

A little hard to find and very in conspicuous but that is what makes it a jewel when you experience the unique fare. Elk, Bison, Beef and my personal favorite grilled salmon BLT....it was scrumptious....highly recommended.🤩🤩🤩🙂

Lamb burgers? SO GOOD. These guys are always so nice and conversive when I come in. It's a very small.building but it never feels too crowded. I love the outdoor seating in the summertime and the extra parking in the back.

Max was a very good server. Food was amazing! They serve beer on tap. Try the peanut butter burger... it does not disappoint.

A little hipster and trendy. Great salads and love their house dressing, very garlicky. Specializing in burgers and unique sauces, local beer. Generally a little pricey but specials are usually quite competitive cost wise. Friendly service

The burgers were tasty! Many choices on the menu. Only down side is the macaroni and cheese wasnt very good. Other than that it's a good place to go I'd say.

We stopped by eagle drive in on our way to Tulsa. They have one of the best burgers I have tasted. I have had their falafel and their special burger and both were so so good. The buns are soft and fresh. The veggies in the tomato are so vibrant and you can really taste the freshness coming from it. The meat was well done since I wanted it that way. For the side I had the house salad, which felt like a delicious Greek salad with a really delicious house dressing. I highly recommend visiting this place. Also, the staff here is friendly and sweet and quite helpful. I recommend this place if you are driving by like us to Tulsa or kans city

Small and interesting, menu delicious burgers and fries, plus very friendly staff. Will definitely be back next time we're in Joplin!

Cheeseburgers were good but it is very pricey here! My husband and I got a cheeseburger a piece fries each and drinks each came to over $30.00! Not worth that much!

Elk burger is a new staple in the Joplin area. Pretty awesome. Blueberry BBQ was great as well. Can't believe I haven't stopped in here before.

Have visited a few times. Food is always good. We've had the side salad with eagle sauce, feta and bacon (yum), eagle burger with fried egg and brunch burger with hollendaise sauce. I never thought I'd like a burger with a fried egg but it was great. The buns were super soft and tasted like Hawaiian rolls. Very busy but we were seated promptly. The server was so friendly and maintained a pleasant smile and calm demeanor the entire time. The last time we went was during the covid craze and the food was just ok. The soft drinks were very flat. They also use "environmentally friendly" but terrible straws that make the soft drink experience weird. Would prefer real straws. Changing from 5 stars to 4.

This little restaurant had huge flavors! This is the poutine burger. It was delicious! Can’t wait to go back and try the other burgers!

We absolutely love this place! Our waiter was awesome! I had the BLT 🥓and it was phenomenal. My husband had some sort of sandwich with steak tips & bacon with an egg on top and it was awesome. The fries and dips were delectable. They even brought our dog a water bowl and a treat. We will be returning to try the rest of the menu!!

Service was fantastic. The poutine was also delicious. We both got and old fashioned burger, ordered medium and medium rare and both came well done. I would likely try the feta stuffed lamb burger next time. The chili and Mac n cheese sides were both good, I like that you can pick any side with your burger without upcharge. It was a great local joint, and conveniently located off I44. If I find something on the menu more than just good next time we go, I would upgrade it to 5 stars.

Excellent service, awesome food! We got the poutine burger, and that brown gravy is so good I could just drink it. Also got the number 6 elk burger and added the garlic aoli. Super tender, flavorful and good! Our server was so friendly and very attentive. I wanted to try the whole menu, but we were barely hungry as it was. So it will just be an excuse for us to keep going back. Literally a tiny little shack of a place but it's so quaint and well set up inside. The fries were really good, the mac and cheese was decent but not my favorite thing. I recommend for sure though! Nothing tasted frozen or like it came out of a package which I really appreciate.

Unfortunately, I did not enjoy my visit. The tea was a bit off so I traded it for Coke. The Coke was syrupy and flat. I had the Eagle Burger. The quail egg was slimy and pouring off the burger. There was a distinct flavor of mustard, though it was not listed as an ingredient. Had it been, I'd've ordered it without. The burger was so messy, I had to use a fork and knife which made it fall apart even more. The fries were decent, with a good flavor. My companion was unsatisfied as well. Neither of us will return.

Casual, unassuming hole in the wall with suprisingly good food. Mac and cheese & Root beer on tap for the kiddos (or the DD), and plenty of other taps for everyone else. The steak tips on fries looked amazing, and the burgers were pretty darn good. The menu is actually much more extensive than what's available online.

Great little burger joint. Very good food. There was a bit of a wait and we had to sit outside on picnic bench's because they were so full. It's a small place but gets extremely busy. Can't wait to go back and try another burger.

Wow! A most joyous waitress welcomed me to a delicious decadence. The best BLT I've ever had. Perfectly toasted. Juicy bright tomato. Most excellent and generous bacon of heaven. Splendid meal of pure happiness delivered with pride. Make the time. Make the trip!

Food was just as awesome as usual! Hot and fresh and so good. House made jalapeño margaritas and some of the best burgers and poutine in town!

It is a great place to eat and the waiters are great. The food was delicious. Will go back again. There steak tips and poutine fries were awesome.

I have finally found a place in this town/state that I love. I consider myself quite the foodie, and the food here is phenomenal and the choice of beverages is just what this town needs. The manager is nice and great at his job. It's a small place, which makes it even better, because you get better service. Prices are steep, but you get what you pay for.

Their food was amazing! I had a veggie burger, and this is the first restaurant I've ever been to that had 3 vegetarian burger options. I was very impressed and the burger was delicious and perfectly cooked. Definitely 5 stars. I will definitely recommend it as one of the best burger places in Joplin, MO.

Just another 5 star review to add to the list. Our first visit but not our last. Hamburger was excellent...fries superb...Eagle salad is the perfect blend of flavors with a dressing that surprised your taste buds with every bite. The entire visit was made better by the wait staff who were very pleasant and friendly. We were greeted with a smile and enjoyed a short visit with the cook. and cant wait to go back! Highly recommended.

We took a chance and stopped at a place that we found on the internet moments before we had to turn off for lunch in Joplin. I was ready to turn around and walk out if it didn't look nice on the inside, but we were immediately welcomed in, and could smell the food. We had a pair of burgers, poutine fries, and shared a cheesecake. It was a gourmet experience. But on the other hand, everyone was so nice, and the place was so cute. Left me with a very favorable impression of Joplin, Missouri.

We came on a Friday because my wife loves crab legs. I got the steak tips. Service was good and food was good. We dont have the opportunity to come here often but it is always good when we do. Thanks!

Always the best gourmet hamburgers anywhere! The service is top notch. We always love talking with this server.... I can't remember his name but I believe he's a teacher also.... whenever were able to be in Joplin. We come through about twice a year and it's definitely not enough! Their fries are incredible and their dipping sauce? Omg! Btw.. . You can choose from several gourmet dipping sauces. I love the garlic! Oh and if you're a coffee drinker, they have the best French press coffee I've had anywhere. They tell me their coffee vendor is local, from the farmers market and that you won't find this particular coffee anywhere else. I love that we've been coming here since they were new and the quality and service is always perfect!
